Supplies of beef are slightly above demand whereas lamb supplies are slightly lower............

Pigmeat prices are still suffering from pressure from the trade pushing prices back whenever they can............................................................




PIGS - Prices only just holding for prime meat and sow prices are stand on this week

BEEF - prices have gone back in some abattoirs this week..........................................

LAMB - Prices holding well for quality lambs, especially lighter ones, helped by the export prospects on the back of a weak pound.....................................................................................

Transporters carrying out journeys over 65km and under 8 hours must be authorised by the competent authority.
Farmers transporting their own animals in their own vehicles under 50km from their holding are exempt. However, good animal practice during transport must still be followed.
